The Future is Bright

I grew up in an environment of hopelessness and extreme poverty. I attended low standard schools and hardly made good grades. This kind of living shaped my thinking to believe that I was unfortunate and that I couldn't do anything to help myself. I developed a very low self esteem to an extent of losing my mind. I struggled to raise funds for high school and college. I managed to get part time casual labor in construction. All these jobs were unprofessional and tough.
The turning point of my life came about when I committed my life to Jesus Christ in Nov 1998. I stopped feelling sorry about my situation and started repeating a phrase "The future is bright" that changed my thinking by making believe that my future is not determined by prevailing circumstances.
Today I can stand confidently to say that I am successful and my future is indeed bright. I graduated from college, transfered to one of the best Bible schools in Tulsa Oklahoma- Victory Bible Institute, and founded a ministry that reaches out to children and youth in the community- Upperhand Initiative Ministry. I could not have done all this without telling my self years back that the future was going to be bright. I encourage you all to affirm daily and believe that your future is bright.
